Love stories come in all shapes and sizes, and today, I am excited to share the kickass wedding reception of José (she/her) and Falk (they/them), who celebrated at Métier Brewing Company's flagship store on E Cherry Street in Seattle, Washington. Surrounded by the warmth of family and friends, their special day was a testament to the power of love, diversity, and inclusion.

José and Falk's love story began on the field, where they met playing rugby with the Mudhen’s in Seattle. From the Mudhen’s website “Mudhen Rugby is a family of womxn working on and off the pitch to create and expand a bold, inclusive, and empowered community. As the DII club Pacific Northwest champions three years and counting, we play rugby. But that’s not all; we are teachers, engineers, nurses, artists, and scientists. We are parents and siblings, friends, family. Mudhens are about community— within our team and within our city.” Many of their former teammates came to celebrate these two with as much enthusiasm as they show on the field. These values are clearly present in all aspect of José and Falk’s lives, and their relationship. Marked by understanding, support, and respect for each other, is a beautiful example of how love knows no bounds.

Their wedding ceremony took place during the Covid-19 pandemic, and they have been patiently waiting to celebrate their marriage surrounded by family and friends from all walks of life. Loved ones came together from as close as Seattle and as far as Argentina and Germany, celebrating not only their love for each other but also their love for the diverse community that had gathered to support them.

As the sun set over Seattle, Métier Brewing Company came alive with laughter, music, and heartfelt toasts. Guests enjoyed delicious craft beers and delectable cuisine, all while celebrating the love between José and Falk.

The crowd joined together to participate in a tradition from Argentina wherein everyone grabbed a ribbon that had a charm on the end, baked into a huge wedding cake. Cheers erupted as they pulled out the ribbons to see if they had a ring on theirs, symbolizing that they would be next to marry! It was clear that the love José and Falk shared had a ripple effect, bringing people together and fostering an atmosphere of inclusivity and celebration.

Their wedding reminds us that love knows no boundaries, and that by embracing our differences and celebrating diversity, we can create a world that is more accepting, loving, and beautiful.
